The pattern situation! It's in the microwave!

Well readers, it finally arrived yesterday, my manilla BMV envelope, quite timely I might add. The USPS did a lovely job shipping my patterns and putting them in my mailbox without folding or crushing them to smithereens, although, they can't seem to resist folding, nearly creasing my favorite catalogs (which also arrived yesterday) in our very spacious mailbox? Why mail lady! Why? Hmm.. Anyhow, I'm happy that I've received my patterns before they went on sale at JoAnns. That was the whole point of doing the BMV thing! Timing. So, I feel that I need to take advantage of getting my Vogues (5 days) earlier than I would if purchased at the 'J'. The Vogues go on sale at the 'J' on Friday, BTW!

So now I've moved on to reading and looking at the pattern pieces & line drawings again, visualizing the outfits in my head. I have some good hours of sewing ahead of me and it's time to get started! It's feeling like a sew it fast, quick and easy project day. Hot & Ready! Microwave sewing! Basically, I want it now! Let's see what happens! And readers thanks for stopping by, especially my favorite 40!

That's all!

  3. Shari, yes it is! Sewing candy! Thanks for commenting!

Hi Denise, this morning I was trying to match up my fabric with a pattern too. I think my selection will do but I'm also very tempted to sew this one up again!!

This is so exciting for me! I've never sewn a Vogue right out of the gate before! I'll keep you posted!

  4. Ha ha, microwave sewing, I love that! I can't seem to do any of my sewing that fast anymore, and I haven't stopped to figure out why not.

  5. There were some great Vogue patterns this go around, huh? Girl I was about to get mine through BMW (at your suggestion) but surprisingly Hancock fabrics had them. Although I was stuck at work the day of the sale don't you know I called there as soon as they opened and had someone pull my 7 patterns. Those people were so sweet and I was so DESPERATE! LOL! Can't wait to see what you make...

  6. Hi Kyle, LOL, well I'm totally not reccomending that everything go in the microwave. Only sometimes!

Yes there are some good ones! Good catch on the Hancock sale! You're lucky to save on shipping, although it wasn't that expensive, thanks goodness. You know it really pays off when the sales staff are nice! I really think it makes a difference. How awesome of them... And then you can just grab, buy and go! I like that...might try that, but I'll save it for when I'm in a time pinch. Great idea! Thanks Victoria!

  7. I'm excited about the new Vogues! I got mine the other day. I'm making ONE (I think) last summer dress, then is off to pre-fall sewing!

  8. Wow Adrienne! You are right on schedule! I feel like those pants have set me back on 2 remaining summer dresses & pushed me forward into fall sewing, which is just what I need. Last year I didn't start sewing for cooler weather until September! Can't wait to see your dress! Thanks for commenting!

  11. Can't wait to see it!!! I' did mine in a solid, this coral color. I couldn't find a print I liked in my stash. I'm TRYING not to purchase any fabric until I go out of town in a few weeks lol.

  12. Ooohhh...that will be so pretty Adrienne! My stash is crowded, no overflowing the storage I have now. I know I need to slow down the fabric intake! LOL!

  13. I hope so!! I didn't realize how much fabric I had until I purchased that Ipod app that keeps track of your fabric. I have a TON lol.

  14. I wonder if that's the same app Deepika mentioned on PR? You should do a post on that app, if you haven't already.
