The psychology of marketing. A different Vogue pattern sale.

Readers, is this good marketing? When I first saw this image, I thought, oh, that's so me a Girly Girl! But I'm not getting this pattern and I'm wondering how many of you did? As I've said before, I will not do ruffles on sleeves! Even if I'm in costume...which almost never happens, that includes that creepy little holiday that I loathe! Back on topic, I think they want me to buy this pattern. I'm guessing that of their designer products, this one ranked low in sales to their surprise! Ha! But isn't it kinda pretty. The hair. The makeup. The skirt is great and maybe if I just removed the sleeve ruffle it would look very pretty on you...unique. Why don't you buy it and give it a try. Yea! It won't hurt at all. It will be fun!

No readers, I will not get this pattern at this price, or at all, because it's $5.99! They got my money, I got the patterns, did they forget that the patterns were just $3.99. My inner girly girl is slightly disappointed! (in a high squeaky voice) I do want to show my feminine side with ruffles and frills! Ok tell me! Who got this pattern. Just curious. I know someone will totally rock it!

Almost done, these Vogue pattern sale post things won't last forever. I'm just learning their pattern, recording it, because they have one.

Lastly, readers you should be proud! That last post, I did on a real laptop! Oh dear, that was a time eater! I'm proud if me for that post, but that took a lot of time, so don't get used to it readers, laptops are now a 'sometimes food' for me. It's back to tap, tap, tap iPad blogging, which is also why the formatting is not as fabulous, but I'm dealing.

See ya tomorrow with my dress!

  1. I bought that pattern last week when they were $3.99 at Hancock. I hate the blouse, but I thought the skirt was really cute.

  2. That's the thing about the Vogue online sales...you have to carefully wait for the right one. I bought at the $4.50 sales (Club BMV price 4.05) because I only wanted 2/3 patterns so the 50cents difference didn't bother me. But I never purchase at the $5.99 or higher sales anymore. I just leave the patterns I want in the cart and wait for another sale. It's not like I really need more patterns anyway! :)

  3. I do like this pattern, but the shirt needs work. I haven't purchased my Fall Vogues yet because I didn't have time to get to the sale last week. I plan to get this one, but I will definitely omit the arm ruffles. I don't do arm ruffles! I also don't like that top with that skirt. I am thinking I will make that top with some changes and wear it with skinny jeans tucked into boots this Fall.

  4. I purchased the pattern just for the skirt.

  5. I think the skirt is cute, and might buy the pattern for that. Am I the only one who thinks the model looks really puffy?

  6. I must be the only one that likes this pattern although I didn't by it...yet! I love all things ruffled. I don't think the model looks puffy at all. What actually is puffy?

  7. I received this pattern as a birthday gift. When I first saw it something just took over (lol) it was a "must have". I seldom purchase patterns over $3.99 unless it is an OOP pattern that I "must have".

  8. I didn't buy this one and I never purchase Vogue patterns online. I just go to JoAnn's or Hancock's to buy them at the $3.99 sale. The ruffles don't look too bad; but I won't buy this one.

  9. I might buy it. I really like the shaped waistband of the pencil skirt in the back. I thought the blouse looked better in the magazine than it does on the web, but I'm not sold on it - lord knows I love ruffles, but I'm not sure if the sleeve ruffles might be a bit much. I won't buy it for 5.99 though... I might pick it up at Joanns this weekend (Vogues for 3.99!)

I can't wait to see your dress!

  10. I'm with you HLT...not too many ruffles for girl! I made a couple of blouses with a few ruffles down the front but this one is a bit much for me too! I won't be making it. I do love the color and look of the blouse fabric though! Can't wait to see your dress tomorrow!

  11. From the line drawings, it looks like you could leave the ruffles off of the sleeves. I'll admit... I liked this when I first saw it. That was until I saw the back view. Didn't care for that at all.

  12. Well I typed out a response to every comment and the hotel login pops up and erases everything. Annoying! But I've read every word and enjoyed every comment! Thank you for taking the time to stop by and comment!

  13. OMG I wish we had 3.99 or 5.99 sales over here in Australia... the best we get is half the full price or two for the price of one!
